We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be zooming through airport security and exploring San Miguel de Allende before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a stress-free flight experience is to pack in advance. Start with the essentials: passport, travel docs, bank cards and daily medications. Next, take on board items that'll help pass the time, like some electronic gadgets or a thrilling book. You'll also want to pack your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs. And of course, don't forget to toss in toiletry items like a toothbrush, facial wipes and a clean T-shirt.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Don layers of natural-fibre clothing and remember to pack a cardigan in case it gets cool. Always opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes as your feet may swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your checked luggage.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing foot and leg exercises while seated helps to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a quality pair of compression socks may also help.
