Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well organised. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will get your San Sebastian escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you carry the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good book. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, your important medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by dressing in layers, and wear closed-toe, flat footwear like slip-ons.
- Caused by sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers during long-distance flights. Reduce the risks by staying hydrated, keeping your ankles and legs moving and wearing compression socks to help your circulation.
