No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you prepare well enough. We've put together a list of handy tips that will help get your Scarborough escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a great experience if you carry the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a Swiss Army knife lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive products, such as bleach and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your airplane are not the place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and pack a sweater as it can get chilly in the cabin. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-haul flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To avoid this, make the most of every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression tights and socks are another simple way to help lower your risk.
