If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be challenging. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a pleasant start to your holiday in Sha Tin.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a pleasure if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, find room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and gasoline, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of your aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and don't forget to bring a sweater as it can get chilly inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are also a good choice.
- A condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity. Doing regular foot and leg exercises while seated helps to prevent this from happening. Wearing a pair of compression socks or tights is also recommended.
