Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Shangzhi holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack in your passport, official ID, cash and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are some great options. If you plan to catch more than just forty winks, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll touchdown looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Choose shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to bring a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
