No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well organised. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Sosúa holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you carry the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any vital medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and poisons, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by donning layers, and opt for flat, enclosed shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
