No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well organised. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will get your Split holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a great experience if you take the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare pair of socks and a good read. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, any vital medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive products, like aerosols and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort really should be your prime concern when selecting what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear carefully too, as swelling of the feet and ankles are a common occurrence. Roomy, closed-toed shoes are your best bet.
- A serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation. Doing foot and leg exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this from happening. Wearing a pair of compression socks is also recommended.
