Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Spur Tree holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, put in your passport, official ID, wallet and medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a phone crammed with your favourite shows are some great options. If you hope to take a quick snooze, a neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you arrive at your destination feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp or pointed objects hiding in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable substances, such as bleach and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your prime concern when selecting what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear with care too, as swollen feet are a common side effect of flying. Flat shoes which are slightly roomy are always a good idea.
- The condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this happening. Wearing a good pair of compression socks or tights can also help.
