Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well prepared. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will get your Tafuna holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having a worry-free flight experience is to pack ahead. Start with the essentials: passport, boarding pass, bank cards and important medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help pass the time, like some electronic gadgets or a juicy novel. It's also smart to pack your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. And of course, be sure to toss in toiletry items like a toothbrush, lip balm and a fresh set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a Swiss Army knife lurking in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive goods, such as bleach and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The goal here is to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Don layers of breathable clothing and remember to bring a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Opt for a pair of roomy, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and chunky boots in your checked luggage.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-haul flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another simple way to help reduce this risk.
