Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're prepared. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Taveuni Island East holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be easy if you take the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and go for shoes that are flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
