Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Tenkodogo could be as easy as pie or it could go on forever. We've rounded up some handy tips that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare pair of socks and a magazine or two. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, your medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a Swiss Army knife lurking in your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable products, like aerosols and matches, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Layer yourself up in natural-fibre clothing and bring a cardigan in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Pick flat, slightly roomy shoes as your feet may swell during the flight. Leave the high heels and chunky boots in your checked baggage.
- The condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this developing. Wearing a quality pair of compression tights or socks may also help.
