Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've planned ahead. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Torra Bay holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) hiding in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive goods, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to feel as comfortable as you can. Don layers of natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to pack a sweater in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Always go with well-fitting, flat shoes as your feet may swell a little during the journey. Leave the stilettos and hiking boots in your main luggage.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, make the most of every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another easy way to help lower your risk.
