We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and you'll be zooming through airport security and enjoying Trindade before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, put in your passport, travel documents, credit cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a laptop filled with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you intend to catch a few z's, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll hop off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes knives, scissors, spray paint and fireworks. Sporting equipment like golf clubs, and objects that could injure passengers, such as pepper spray and firearms, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort really should be your highest priority when choosing what to wear during your flight. Consider your choice of footwear with care too, as swollen ankles and feet are a common side effect of flying. Roomy, closed-toed shoes are your best bet.
- Most travellers have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. There's plenty you can do to minimize your risk. Don a pair of compression tights or socks, drink lots of water and get your legs and feet moving. Wander around the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
