Wherever you’re coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you’re well prepared. Follow these handy tips that will help get your Ulvik escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you bring the right things. First of all you’ll need basic toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, don’t forget to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items differs between airlines, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes knives, scissors, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like baseball bats, and objects that could injure passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, won’t be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an aircraft are no fashion runway. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a sweater as the temperature can drop in the cabin on long-haul flights. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are also recommended.
- Most of us have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There’s plenty you can do to reduce your risk. Wear a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights, drink lots of water and keep your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
