Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well. We've made a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Uozu escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you've got all the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to feel as comfortable as you can. Pick slip-on footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to take a pullover in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
