If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be challenging. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints and enjoy a hassle-free start to your time in Ushuaia. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, put in your passport, travel documents, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy novel and a phone filled with your favourite shows are some fantastic options. If you hope to catch a few z's, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, find room for a few toiletry items to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of a plane are not the place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and remember to take a cardigan as it tends to get cool inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Closed-toed, flat shoes are also a good choice.
- Unfortunately, one risk of flying long distances is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression tights and socks are another great idea to help reduce this risk.
