Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Wan Yai could be no sweat at all or it could drag on forever. We've rounded up some tips that will help you start your next great adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a great experience if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare pair of socks and a magazine or two. Next, make room in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and maybe a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and gasoline, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your highest priority when deciding what to wear on your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a sensible choice, as are flat, slip-on shoes.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks or tights and keep your legs and feet moving.
