Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. We've compiled a list of handy tips that will get your Wuzhishan escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a good novel. Next, find room in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and matches, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Layer yourself up in natural fibers and remember to bring a jacket just in case you get chilly. Pick a pair of roomy, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked luggage.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There's lots you can do to lower your risk. Don a pair of compression tights or socks, stay well hydrated and keep your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
