No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will get your Yuksekova holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a good read. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, any medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and choose shoes that are flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
