Lovely hotel in excellent location.

Beautiful property. Great location only 10 mins walk to Montpelier. Beds extremely comfortable! Lovely breakfast terrace. Great hospitality

Fabulous Place

This hotel was fabulous! I would highly recommend. The room is spacious, and well decorated. The bed was also very comfortable! I would recommend the made to order breakfast too - we dined on the patio with the birds singing. If you can, stay here!

Excellent hotel, full of character

Had a very pleasant one-night stopover. Butlers is well decorated, full of character and a very comfortable place to stay. The owners were very welcoming and sociable, the bedroom a good size, and the breadfast very good. We were recommended a restaurant which turned out to be fantastic. Everything is within walking distance and parking was no problem. Would happily stay there again.

Very nice B&B. Paul made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and is a great character. He suggested a new local restaurant, the Mahal, and the food and service there was excellent. The B&B has a lovely terrace to sit and eat breakfast or to watch the sun go down with a glass in your hand. Next time I am in the area I will be booking a room.

Lovely quiet location

Nice upmarket B&B. Clean good sized room. Location was excellent, quiet street but within 10 minutes walk of bars and restaurants. Good breakfast with vegetarian option

Bad experience

The place has most of its rooms on the third floor for which there is no elevator. Carrying anything more than a backpack is risky because steps are narrow and narrower still due to thick carpet on the stairs. I twisted my ankle coming down with a small carry-on bag. I had worst experience of my life as I travelled all the way from Nice in France and took a rental car from Gatwick, and in the process got delayed beyond check-in time by an hour and a half. My efforts to call him we're through Hotels.Com contact which doesn't seem to have reached upto him, but the contact assured me that I would be allowed entry. On reaching Mr Paul screamed at me saying my booking is cancelled, as he couldn't wait all night and had sat for his dinner. When I said sorry and that I will wait for him, he screamed againand said he was sitting for his wine and would not line show up again. He almost threw the keys at me. Ask a result , we left in the morning as soon as we got ready and did not avail of his breakfast as it was not done to break the bread with bad blood. If he had said go away without howling at me it would have been better. I have never been humiliated like this in life.

Easter bank holiday stay

Really nice hotel! Excellent service from Paul from the get-go, lots of recommendations for places to visit and bars and restaurants. The room was very clean and nicely furnished, with a comfy bed and nice bathroom. The breakfast was delicious with a range of cooked options as well as cereals, yoghurt and fruit.

The host was extremely welcoming and the room was comfortable with everything you could need. Tlocation is perfect for eating and shopping. The on-site parking was an added bonus.

It was ok.

It’s was ok Nothing more nothing less chose the hotel as it was near where I was working but I wouldn’t rush back. The shower was cold in the morning even with the hot all the way up. Breakfast cooked fresh full English really good. Wi-fi wasn’t the best either. There was rubbish still in the bin from the old occupants.
