Very rude front desk staff. Not helpful and very lazy too. No water supply in the room toilet. Some one came after so many calls and got water flowing only in wash basin taps . Very poor . Not worth for the money. Stayed only one night

Nice hotel close to Office and center of Chennai.

It was a nice stay at Southern Crest, this is my third time I stayed here. Best part is breakfast they serve a decent breakfast other than local food.

Excellent location helpful staff great breakfast

I have stayed several times in this hotel and always have enjoyed my stay. The staff specially Mr Parthiban have gone out of the way to make our stay great. The location of hotel is close to shopping area of usman road, the morning breakfast is extensive, wifi is free with decent speed, rooms are big and with air condition. I would stay here again and highly recommend it!

The management of this hotel is not upto the expectation. They are charging extra amount over whatever we have paid already at the time of check in. And are not able to give any explanation of that charge. Never like to deal with such hotel management.

Good location - easy walk to main shopping area. Comfortable and friendly staff. Food was good but not much variety. Hotel does not have "travel desk" unlike some other hotels in Chennai ie no ready access to tourist activities in Chennai. If I travel again I would stay there.

Poor reception Service at night

It was a pleasant stay except for the night of 21/7/13 night staff was rude when I checked in and my taxi fare to airport was wrongly quoted. Taxi man demanded for 120/- for that then the fare I was informed.

Close to Pondy Bazar and T.Nagar jewellery shops

Poor visibility of the hotel. Located in the middle of shops and there is no frontage. Poor amenities --no hand towels or napkins. TV did not work every time it was turned on and called the maintenance two times. Poor front desk area-- it is like an office room with glass door and is located in the 2nd floor. Complimentary breakfast, compared to similar other hotels, has very limited choices..no omlett or dosa.

Comfortable, but rough around the edges

Overall, it was clean and comfortable, if not spectacular. The staff was excellent and very friendly and helpful. My only two real complaints were intermittent hot water and WI-FI. Continually having to renew my Internet access code was a real annoyance and completely unnecessary. They should issue codes that are valid for the duration of your stay, as do many other hotels.
