Top Cheviot Hills Hotel Reviews
Ednam House Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"If you want mirrored bathrooms and quinoa and tofu with chilli this isn't for you. But it's a beautiful place with superb staff, great views and good food. Cosy and elegant."
Red Lion Inn
8/10 Good
"Very clean room. Food in the restaurant was excellent and would definitely recommend the Seafood chowder. The breakfast was plentiful and again recommend either the vegetarian full English or the omelettes"
Le Petit Chateau & William de Percy
10/10 Excellent
"The room was clean. The decor was slightly tired, very little room for clothes, just a thin wardrobe. That said, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom excellent with a wonderful shower. Staff were friendly, helpful and were between them the highlight of our stay. Couldn’t ask for better. The bar served good wine, good beer (although they ran out of handpull) and the food was of a very high standard. To say compliments to the chef is an understatement. The hotel has lovely gardens worth a look round although on our three day visit, we were not allowed to go in them two days due to two weddings and the wedding guests get exclusive use of the gardens. I have to say that I was deflated once we had made a non refundable booking to get a message from the hotel saying there were weddings two out of our three nights but I can happily relate that other than garden access, the weddings were fully contained, did not affect bar or restaurant and we could not hear the music. Sharing with weddings is not an issue with this hotel."
Dryburgh Abbey Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel is large with plenty of comfortable lounges to relax in. There is an outside area for lunch or drinks if the weather is nice. The hotel is next to the ruins of Dryburg Abbey which is Def worth a visit. The food is good. Breakfast excellent with lots of choice. Evening meal was good. Staff were great. The hotel is clean and well cared despite being very old. Lots of places to walk in the grounds and beside the river. There is onsite parking"
The Royal Hotel
8/10 Good
"Hotel was good. Choice of continental breakfast & staff helpful. I was offered an evening meal but that was withdrawn when I attended to eat. Went to pub next door which was excellent"
Newcastle Arms Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"My 2 night stay was very enjoyable, just wish I could have stayed longer . Room was nice warm , quiet and comfortable Excellent breakfast .Parking space at rear."
The Rose & Thistle Alwinton
10/10 Excellent
"A charming B&B. Well maintained with friendly staff. A quiet location. Room was comfortable with lovely bed linen and towels"
The Old Post Office - B&B and Coffee Shop
10/10 Excellent
"Room was lovely, great breakfast and Yvonne was went out of her way to support us with a late check in. Lovely stay ☺️"
The Central Guest House
8/10 Good
"This accommodation is very well located in the Kelso town square and within easy walking distance to pubs, cafes and restaurants. The bakery to the left of the front door is outstanding for home cooked morning rolls and beautiful cakes. Apartment 1 is spacious, clean and has everything you need despite the furnishings being a bit dated. Note this accommodation may not be suitable for those with mobility issues due to the stairs to all rooms. This is a great base for trips to Lindisfarne,Bamburgh castle(Last Kingdom) and abbeys in Melrose, Jedburgh and Kelso itself. Cute shops in Kelso as well."
