"This was a last minute booking, I only live about an hour’s drive away. We decided to stay in the city instead of going home. I booked this hotel because the price was a sale and it offered a continental breakfast. The email I got informed me that there is no staff overnight at the hotel, so we made sure we got checked in before 11 pm and said good bye to the desk agent. After getting into our room, we both had showers. The smoke detector started to beep. It beeped intermittently for about 90 minutes. Since there is not staff overnight, there is no one to inform, so no one to offer a room change or any other options. We waited awhile, waved towels around, contemplated just going home and then it stopped and didn’t go off again. We slept well, the bed was comfortable. In the morning at 9:00 am we went to the lobby expecting the continental breakfast and there was none. We were going to make a coffee, it was out of water. The desk was not staffed at that moment, so we could not inform anyone of the lack of water. A few minutes later staff came to the desk, I informed them of the smoke alarm beeping, they apologized, said they would have maintenance check into it and follow up with me via email. I hope they filled the water."
