"Ginette and Ross are very welcoming hosts and the house itself seems to wrap its arms around you. Beautiful garden space with chairs for relaxing, heritage home with their own paintings complementing the antiques and cosy furnishings, very comfortable bed all make The Captain’s House a real find. Elegant dining room for breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt and granola followed by tasty cooked entree. We will return!!"
"Included breakfast was nice. Unique set up with pool adjacent to the dining area. We didn't use the pool but liked that set up. I think that front desk could have told us about stairs at back of property entrance and more strongly suggested using the elevator from the dining area to access the accommodation at the building at the back via level ground. We were 3 seniors and struggled with the stairs."
"For the value it was clean and comfortable, we had the traditional cabin which had full waterfront views from the raised large deck. The pool was clean and there are several bbqs and lots of muskoka chairs to relax by the water. Make sure you drive further down the road to checkout the local lock and marina with multiple options for restaurants."
"What a wonderful property!!!!!
It's unique in its architecture and the amenities offered (which we didn't have a chance to use)
Bathroom was HUGE but my only criticism would be to have hooks to hang towels since daily housekeeping is something that you are trying to get away from. Also with a beachfront, where would we hang towels and bathers to dry. Fan was quite loud BUT, was happy to have one as many hotels/inns don't have them anymore.
The balcony was AWESOME to have and enjoyed coffee out there on Saturday morning. Only drawback I would say is that it hadn't been cleaned since winter so, sitting on a chair with bird poop and debris wasn't the best.
The decking/patio at the front entrance (to the right) could use some loving as it doesn't seem to match the rest of the esthetic as well as perhaps a staff entrance being gated off.
Everything else was absolutely fantastic and we will 100% be back there again!
THANK YOU."
