"Hotel shuttle from the airport was requested and confirmed by the hotel but never happened. First time in Paraguay and after midnight arrival, we were not happy to find out that no one showed up and the hotel did not answer the phone. When we let the hotel know upon arrival, they were nice enough to offer free shuttle on our departure. I was glad to find out that the hotel took responsibilities for the mishap."

"The hotel itself is quite modern and relatively new. The building is nice, and the room was spacious, comfortable, and exactly as shown in the photos. It has all the amenities that are advertised, and overall the room looked good and acceptable in terms of cleanliness. However, the biggest issue is the location. While it is true that the hotel is close to the airport, the surrounding area is very poor. The hotel is located in a neighborhood with unpaved roads, and there is absolutely nothing nearby — no restaurants, no shops, nothing to do. The area feels unsafe, especially at night. Regarding cleanliness, it was just acceptable. For example, the bathroom trash bin had long hairs in it, which was unpleasant and made it seem like it wasn’t properly cleaned. The view from the room was also very disappointing. My room faced the back, and the view was of very modest houses — nothing nice or enjoyable to look at. Additionally, the hallways and areas near the rooms had a bad smell, often like food. It even felt like some people might be living there rather than just staying as guests, as there were children around and the atmosphere felt more like apartments than a hotel. I only stayed one night before leaving Paraguay, and although the hotel includes breakfast, I couldn’t try it because I had to leave very early in the morning. In summary, the building itself is nice and modern, and the rooms are good, but the location is terrible. Maybe in the future the area will develop m"

Casa La Lilia - Villa María Hotel

"We booked Villa Maria via Expedia based on a recommendation and the beautiful photos shown online. Only after booking did we notice “Casa La Lilia” mentioned in the name. The hotel presents itself as two houses “100 meters apart,” but this is very misleading. The main property (on the lake, with pool and views) is clearly what’s shown in the photos. Casa Lilia, where we were placed, is a completely different experience—an old house up a very steep hill, surrounded by other buildings, with no view, no pool, and no restaurant. After arriving and unloading our luggage at the main hotel, we were told to put everything back in the car and drive uphill to a separate location. This was never made clear at booking. We tried to cancel but were refused a refund, so we had no choice but to stay. As an older couple, going up and down the steep hill for meals or facilities was not practical, so we felt stuck. This is misleading marketing. If these are two properties of very different standards, they should be advertised separately—not sold using the same photos."

"I booked this hotel based on reviews and pictures. Unfortunately the location, conditions, cleaneness and access to the hotel are terrible to the point that the night we arrived we looked for a different place, checking out first thing in the morning. I would not recommend this hotel to any foreigner used to basic standards. Only plus of the place was the staff friendliness and good customer service."
