Comfortable stay in quiet village

Clean, comfortable room with a pastoral view. Warm welcome with a bottle of chilled water for our room. Owner booked a table for us for dinner at the Shepherd Inn in the village a few minutes walk away. (The Fox and Hounds is another option). Excellent breakfast and ample off road parking. Apparently the village is the first stop on Wainwright's coast to coast path, so several walkers (from various countries) were among the guests and were provided with packed lunches on request.

Great B&B in a beautiful English village

My friend and I had a great 2 night stay and enjoyed the hospitality of our wonderful hosts. The rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious and well suited for a short or longer stay. Great location to explore the Lakes District and do some star gazing in a dark sky area. Highly recommend.

So welcoming after a hard day on the trail

Every thing was just perfect at Thorntrees. Set up nicely for walkers, great facilities and comfy beds.

Friendly and welcoming. Clean room with comfortable bed. Quality cooked breakfast. Perfect position for hiking the hills or lakes and part of the coast to coast route.

Lovely Guesthouse

The owners were so lovely and friendly. Their service was great. We visited Ennerdale lake and drove over to Waswater. It’s perfect if you’re wanting to experience the lakes away from the hustle bustle of the more commercialised areas.

Great hotel along the coast to coast walk!

Precisely what we needed for a weekend break. Very friendly and helpful staff who couldn't have done more! The room was clean and spacious equipped with a fully stocked and en suite bathroom. Highly recommended!
