Shoreline Inn & Conference Center, an Ascend Collection Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Pretty bare bones on the amenities. On the plus side, it had a small freezer in the mini fridge to refreeze blue ice and a nice view of Muskegon. Other than that, it is like a European/Big City youth hostel hotel with a grand entry way but tiny rooms with no comforts of home.
No Desk and no desk chair
No counter space to put your stuff
No full-length mirror
Only one chair for a two-person room
Very small 1990's computer screen sized TV
No cable channels so no live sports, just free antenna TV with the typical infomercials, reality TV, etc.
No breakfast
No counter in the very tiny bathroom, just a sink, toilet and odd shaped shower
Has a "French Balcony" but the faux doors do not open, so no fresh air"
"Great all the way around. I was there for a weekend by myself while my child was at camp. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming. Told me about all the things I could enjoy in the area. Upon entering my room, everything was clean and exactly as described. The breakfast was delicious, there were plenty of options. Would recommend to anyone traveling solo or with family."
"This place was disgusting! I should have known something was amiss when the total price was $180 for two nights. The lobby smelled horrible, the room was bleh, the shower had flaking paint, stains everywhere, the towels were stained! You can honestly spare a couple extra dollars and literally go ANYWHERE ELSE and get a better night stay. Oh and there is no security, I hear someone screaming for help so god knows what was happening with that. Oh, and if you like the sound of smoke detectors beeping constantly, then this is the place for you. I literally only stayed here because I didn't have the proper camping equipment to stay with my friends at their campsite. Honestly sleeping in a barn would have been better than sleeping here, but at least the bed wasn't horrible, as far as hotel beds are concerned, it wasn't bad and that is literally the only good thing I can say about the Dung Heap."
