The Ruby is nestled in the beautiful valley of Crested Butte, surrounded by mountains on all sides. We instantly felt at home when we arrived there, welcomed warmly by Emily and Jessica, along with some freshly baked, high-altitude brownies and cookies. Our room was soothing and comfortable, richly decorated with antique furnishings and gorgeous linens. The common areas were also inviting and cozy; we enjoyed chatting with other guests in front of the fireplace while sipping complementary wine and beer. We also enjoyed the hottub and were happy to curl up in the bathrobes provided for after-soaking. We enjoyed watching a DVD and reading a novel from the house collection as well. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, served with smiles all around, and we were treated to espresso drinks each morning starting at 7:30. They were very accommodating to my requests for non-dairy drinks and meals. We truly felt like we found a hidden gem at the Ruby, and can't wait to return. If you are looking for an escape from the city into the mountains in a place that still feels like home, with true hospitality and fantastic mountain views, book your stay at the Ruby and enjoy.
