"It was clean, nicely feeling accommodation in a retro style. The retro does NOT mean old and worn out, but more like the feeling of staying in a small local museum. The rooms are the biggest I stayed in during my two-week road trip in Iceland. Location is best - first line facing ocean / harbor. The only thing I liked less where showers. They where ok, but I would do there some renovations to match the entire guesthouse level."

"This is a unique property in an area that is quite remote. The building is in good repair and our room was clean. There are 5 stairs to descend into the lobby but there is a side door I believe you could use if needed. Our request for a first floor room was honored. The pool is attached to the hotel; in order to get to it there are a number of stairs you need to go down. You can however drive to the parking lot in the front of the pool area to avoid stairs. The pool is also the area's town pool, and there is a community meeting space and gymnasium as well. If you're from the US, think YMCA. I accidentally crashed a local family's confirmation party for their son by wandering in from the hotel and they could not have been kinder. The pool is closed for some hours in the middle of the day. The hot pot area is only a few steps from the hotel right off the parking lot. The changing room hut is clean and well appointed. The hiking trails just off the parking lot are scenic. The game room is large and would be a great place to hang out on a rainy day. A kettle in a common space would be a welcome addition, or in the rooms. There is no readily available place to get a tea or coffee that I could discern other than the restaurant attached to the hotel, which I did not explore but was a fairly pricy place, not unusual for Iceland."

"First the positives - the hotel is well located, the couple looking after us for breakfast were very nice and helpful and the breakfast though a bit limited was more than adequate. And the negatives - We booked through Expedia (who for our other 27 bookings on this trip have been excellent) and specifically selected a 12 sqm Basic Double Room. We arrived and checked in electronically to find our room was what appeared to be an 8 sqm single room with a very small double bed squashed into a very small space. They have repeatedly advised us that this is the room we paid for and have refused to apologise though at the same time offered a 25% refund. They have also insisted that they do not have an 8 sqm room at their hotel even though it is clearly listed and described with photos on their own website. They did message us on the second night offering to relocate us in a bigger room but this message was sent after we went to bed and did not see until the following morning when we were checking out. They tried to justify by describing their hotel as "budget" hostel type accommodation but at about 80,000 ISK for the 2 nights, it is certainly not budget priced. Be very careful if you decide to book this hotel, a quick check by us whilst we were there revealed we could have selected a much better standard of accommodation at a much lower price."
