"I gave The Courtland an "excellent" rating not because it is excellent in the same way I would rate a 5-star Hilton in downtown Portland, for instance. This is an historic building, in an historic part of Ft. Scott. It is run by ordinary folks and everything in that neighborhood is, well, historic (or old). So, it doesn't have glitz but it does have charm and it is peaceful. I would stay there again if I ever return to Ft. Scott. The owners are wonderful people. "

Budgetels pillows were better, their bed was better, their shower was better, and the room was cleaner on checkin. If you are looking for a nice but less expensive hotel in Ft Scott, definitely consider this Budgetel!"
