We did a day tour which took us to the Living Green elephant sanctuary in the morning, then in the afternoon a trip to Doi Inthanon King and Queen pagodas, a hike to the National park to swim in a waterfall and a visit to the Karen Tribe - amazing!

Great city and has enough to make you feel like you are in a city with plenty to do, yet small enough to feel safe enough to walk around at night, especially in the Nimman area. The only negative is the traffic is bad, just not quite Bangkok bad.

Chiang Mai is a beautiful town in northern Thailand, we went to an elephant park and prepared fruits and lunch for them. We sure will come back to visit them again. There are a lot of good restaurants in Chiang Mai, we enjoyed every meal we had!!

Chiang Mai is a historical and cultural wonder, but unfortunately it's hard to navigate on foot due to lack of pedestrian infrastructure and speeding cars. Also, it can get extremely hot and humid, so please be prepared for those conditions

Chiang Mai is a much more relaxed city than Bangkok. It has an easy charm, and lacks the claustrophobic feel of Bangkok (with it's hemmed in building and public infrastructure.) In short, CM is a human sized city well worth visiting.

Recently hit by flooding from the Typhoon so still undergoing some clear up. Lots of hotels and restaurants are still closed but there is still plenty to do and see including the natural beauty of the area and its wildlife

If you're coming to Thailand, do not miss Chiang Mai, it's an absolute must. It's filled with beautiful temples, amazing history and the hospitality is top-notch. Also, massages are cheap plentiful and wonderful.

I loved Chiang Mai. Great places to eat and get massages. Lots of temples to visit. Only complaint is that the sidewalks are somewhat dangerous to walk on as they are uneven and often no sidewalk at all.
