"My husband and I was celebrating our 56th anniversary, I had heard about Hotel Settles, watching a you tube channel about towns of Texas and their highlights. I thought the hotel was beautiful and I wanted to stay, the weather that particular weekend was not so great, but the hotel was wonderful. "Staff was ok didn’t take long to check in, the problem arose when I walked in to our room. At first it seemed clean enough. Later on I went to the bathroom and there was a cockroach on the counter . Gross but I didn’t make a big deal about it .around 5am i Went to the restroom, I turn the light on and there’s at least 5-6 cockroaches scattered around the bathroom! Honestly got my wife up and we left immediately. Truly disgusting"

"They have made poor decisions on breakfast. Removed biscuits and gravy or eggs and bacon or sausage. McDonalds serves better. Removed second waffle machine. This causes backup with people waiting in line. There was no creamer only milk or half and half. They used to serve flavored creamer. They moved breakfast to 6:30 a.m and that causes a rush when people are heading out for their work. For example they had sausage or a crousant sandwich with ham. "Hotel is cheapest in town...but it is a little rough here and there. Bathroom is tiny. Light cover in bathroom was missing...also some base molding and covers on hand rails in shower. hot water ran out pretty quick. No roaches or anything like that but all in all I wish I had spent the extra $30 bucks for a nice new hotel room. Oh yea continental breakfast was not bad..."
