"I travel for work so spend about 250 days a year in a hotel. This trip was a personal trip and as a regular user of hotels.com I just made the booking after seeing some reviews and YouTube vlogs of this place. "First of all I was put not into Alif Laila but in another House Boat "Gulfaam". With very poor cleaning and service. It was a bad experience. No bills given for food bills, but charged."

"Staff were faultless, WiFi in hotel does not work, given dongle which was just OK. TV had no English movie or sports channels, breakfast was fine. Overall nowhere near 4 star standard and definitely would not stay here again. Better amenities in house boats for alot less money."

Mr Butt is on hand to brief you on all the boats' history and brief you on Srinagar and nearby places of interest. Kaka his cook come butler does the rest. - the food is simple but of high quality. I sensed Mountbatten, Nelsinho Rockfeller etc in the wood panel rooms..............what more could one want other than the unenviable clear...

"Unfortunately I was the only guest,it rained hard all day and every day so definitely the wrong time of year to visit.the two members of staff I saw where very helpful put in my room a couple of electric heaters to keep me warm and also there was electric blankets to help.I had to request hot water each and every day and let me say at seventy years of age I don't require cold showers.Overpriced for that time of year."
