"A property that is full of character and a wonderful staff makes this a great place to stay. For 2 nights, I stayed in a courtyard room which was perfect as a solo traveler. The room was warm and cozy which is saying a lot for a North American traveler visiting NZ in the wintertime. John and Deb were always around to answer my questions. I had a car so it was easy to visit all the little shops and tour companies further down the street. In my room I had a refrigerator and a well stocked drink center: tea, coffee and hot chocolate There are so many lodging options in Kaikoura, you should treat yourself to one that has character, good design, and a welcoming staff."

"Small comfy cabin (ZB) with good views. The air freshener smell was overpowering on arrival, ok after ample ventilation. Swimming pool is Summer only but one great hotpool. Minimal kitchen utensils but crockery & cutlery can be hired. "
