"Virginia Creek Settlement is a super cute place. The cabin was clean and cozy. The heater works well and heats the whole cabin in about 10 minutes, however the heater in Cabin 15 is very noisy (they know this and have a little sign about the noise and that if you are a sensitive sleeper to keep the heat low and use the electric blanket).
I let my mom have the queen bed which seemed comfy, but the bunkbed that I slept in had a pretty hard (not just firm) mattress --- maybe good for kids after you've tuckered them out all day (but not so comfy for my old body).
You can also hear road traffic from Hwy 395, but it isn't heavy traffic at night and the noise is dimmed from inside the cabin.
It's convenient having the restaurant in the same place. We ate there for breakfast one day and dinner a different day. A little pricy, but beats driving into Bridgeport.
The creek is lovely and very close to all the cabins/rooms. The location is great if you want to visit Mono Lake or Bodie (we did both).
They have a gas firepit at each cabin and give you a little S'mores Kit, which we took advantage of."
