We had a lovely stay here and had the buffet breakfast in the morning, extremely central and only a 10 minute walk from the port and the train station. Felt like a very cosy and safe place, even had some board games available which we played

Amazing hotel with wonderful staff

went out to stresa for my birthday as had never been for a short break. easily reached by alibus or train to stresa itself. great location, so beautiful loads to see and do. boats so easily available to taxi you about to other resorts on lake but so glad to of stayed in stresa. with the lake and views as far as you can see and the alps in distance lit up by the sun when it was out there nothing to do buy chill out, explore and soak up the scenery with lots of food and drink. hotel is 5 mins...

The hotel self was nice and the staff were very friendly. They gave me tips etc. And helped me through my stay. The shuttle bus was very convenient when you travel via MXP. They will pick you up when you arrived. My room was very spacious and clean! With all the amenities. The restaurant was sublime and friendly staff. I would recommend you to get your dinner here. Everything worked well from the ease of checking in to the upgraded room overlooking the lake to the excellent, responsive staff. The visit was a delight from start to finish. Of particular note were the arrangements for breakfast and the extreme helpfulness and resourcefulness of the members of the concierge team. Can't speak highly enough of them.

I was extremely satisfied with everything—the location, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, and the delicious breakfast. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when I return to this beautiful town.

The staff were so helpful, the breakfasts were amazing and all the facilities were very good. There is a bubble pool, sauna, relaxation rooms and various massages that can be booked. I had the singing bowls massage it was superb.

Quaint little B&B close to the airport with super friendly and helpful staff, would definitely recommend!

Fantastic hotel and stay

Our stay at Hotel Ungheria was great! Good room with airco, facilities, great breakfast and excellent helpfull service throughout. A spotless and very well run family hotel. Varese itself is lovely, as well as centrally located, especially if you like to travel by public transport. Milan, Como, Lugano and more are nearby, including Lake Varese (cycle lane around it), Villa Panza and Sacro Monte. Fully recommended.

We have just returned from a week at the Antico Verbana apartments and can thoroughy recommend them. The staff on reception are pleasant and respond to your requests quickly. We arrived at 7pm in the evening so as information on the website says there were no staff on duty, but the envelope with our keys to the apartment were on the reception desk waiting for us. As other guests have said, there is a restaurant which is very good but this is not always available due to private functions. ...
