"There is maybe a change in owner or management because things are very uneven. High-end bedding and robes, nice entrance and gardeners hard at work, but: they had no portable water, but didn’t tell us that until AFTER we booked and paid; our room reeked (musty? mould?), two chairs were visibly very dirty and looked like from a construction zone, and the exterior pane of a double glazed window was broken. Not sure if the mould smell was from the walls or the obvious mould growing in the window. Hot room with no air conditioning. No chance of opening curtains for the view or be incinerated. The tub tap was dramatically ancient and after running a few minutes, still no hot water. After heading out in my bath robe, I was told to run it for 7-8 minutes. Seriously?
Some of this could have been overlooked if they acted like they cared about our experience. Why put us in that room if it sucks and you are not fully booked (as we were told)? Are all rooms like that?
We tried to have dinner but they wouldn’t let us sit in an area with a nice view as they were saving it for their Mother’s Day breakfast crowd. We opted for the lounge and waited over an hour for our food. These things can happen but we were clearly starving; throw us a breadstick or something!
All of these (or some of them) could be forgiven if there was some impression that they cared, but taken together it really felt to us like the customers were in the way of their reinvention (if that explains the unevenness)."
"My recent stay at Motel 6 was unfortunately disappointing. Upon checking in, there was a very heavy smell of cigarette smoke throughout the building. The staff member at the front desk was friendly, answered my questions, and assured me the property was smoke-free, which I appreciated.
However, once we got into our room, we noticed the towels appeared dirty and the bathtub had visible mold. Because of this, we did not feel comfortable showering that night.
On a positive note, the beds appeared clean and the air conditioning worked well. Unfortunately, the cleanliness concerns and strong smoke smell impacted our overall experience."
"Great desk staff. She walked back to my room to tutor me on tv remotes. Owners are trying hard to update motel. Unfortunately, inconsiderate guests are damaging new door casing and locks. One guest from a work crew smoked a cigar 2 doors down. Yuck! Just wish breakfast was bit bigger. Will return."
