"I loved Manta Ray Island Resort - especially my 6am coffees at the bar, watching the sunrise. The house reef is also lovely - the coral is somewhat recovering, but there are heaps of fish - including big edible fish that you rarely see elsewhere as it is a marine park."

"Everything was excellent. Comfortable bed, clean spacious extremely private rooms, HOT SHOWER, beachfront (multiple sandy walkable beaches), GREAT food, Staff is STELLAR, daily excursions, 24 hour bar, 3 of the sweetest dogs, yoga, kayaks and SUP boards, hiking, and DON'T MISS the massage..... I got one everyday- Anna and Aggie have magic in their hands. Fijian hospitality is by far the best I have experienced in the world, hands down. Book it- its worth the journey! Vinaka, Navutu."

Barefoot Manta Island Resort and Marine Sanctuary

"We had a great stay overall. The manta rays were absolutely incredible, and the coral gardens are some of the best you’ll find. The food was excellent, although the cocktails varied depending on who was making them. The staff were very friendly, and it was lovely being recognised after a few days. Virokai even remembered my name, which made the experience feel personal and welcoming. A few practical improvements would make the stay even better. An information sheet in the bure would be helpful — explaining how lunch and dinner work, what the red coconut is for, and what to expect with cleaning. Cleaning wasn’t consistent during our stay; our friends received fresh towels and sheets halfway through the week, while we had to request clean towels ourselves. The bure was comfortable overall, but the bed was too firm for our liking, and the roof could use a bit of TLC. If you’re coming for manta rays and stunning coral reef gardens, this is absolutely the right resort."

"We had wonderful stay - so peaceful and relaxing. A bit windy when we stayed there, but house reef is protected and can be explored regardless. People who run it are very welcoming, warm and trying to please you. We felt like a part of family and would like to come back"

"Stayed here for 9 nights in the oceanfront bungalow and loved the family atmosphere, the quiet walks on the beach and the beautiful sunsets. This is not a fancy resort but is great value. Beds are comfortable, rooms were simple but clean. There is an excellent reef in front for snorkeling and this is very close to the manta ray migration route. The food is delicious, healthy and very plentiful. You can buy beer and wine at the bar and rent snorkeling gear. We are a retired couple but met lots of young people and families from all over the world."

"We chose Waya because of the great reviews and were so glad we did. Everything from the food to the drinks to the property was amazing. Stepping off the boat was like being wrapped in the love of family! You immediately feel the care that Waya staff gives to all visitors and each other. From fun activities (both free and paid) to relaxing atmosphere, this was such a great place to visit. A big thank you to Joe, Bill and Aggy in the spa for providing such great care. We will definitely be recommending this place going forward. Vinaka!"
