Expensive but worth it

Excellent hotel, first class breakfast on stunning roof top terrace; world class dining on the same terrace in the evening. However, not suitable for the obese or unfit, like me, since like all but one hotels in the Old City, there is no lift. Staff and owner really assiduous in catering to one's needs. Expensive, but worth it! Michael

Top location in city centre with rooftop breakfast

The hotel is the best location for exploring Dubrovnik over a short period of time. The rooms are quite small but very comfortable, it was nice to get a real king size bed for a change rather than two put together! Breakfast was amazing, one of the best I've had. All freshly cooked to order, it's a real treat eating it overlooking the old town from the rooftop restaurant. This is only suitable if stairs are not a problem, there is no lift. My top tip is to watch for the price you pay in advance, I was really annoyed that the hotel rate card prices were cheaper than those we secured through Expedia.

Great location

The hotel is right in the heart of Old Dubrovnik town and very accessible to all restaurants and sites. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Our room was fairly quiet, although one could faintly hear music and street noise at night. Our only major complaint was that there was an awful smell in our bathroom which, we were told, was a result of the hotel's inability to replace old water pipes due to the city's refusal to issue permits to do so.

Localização excelente, café da manhã com muita variedade, quartos confortáveis e o melhor: a simpatia e cuidado que toda equipe de atendimento tem com os hóspedes e fora do normal. Além disso, todos os dias tem mimos no quarto para encantar os hóspedes!

Amazing hotel in the walled city.

The staff at the hotel is amazing and made our stay very comfortable. The rooms are comfortable and updated although the beds are small. The breakfast on the rooftop was a highlight. I would highly recommend staying at the Stari Grad!!

Water from restroom didn't run well.

Clean sea in Dubrovnik and the sky. Taths has Peculiar castle wall.The streets which have not been seen.It was a hotel which fits the town. Hotel with a roof garden where I have only no one in the town.So the breakfast which is while looking at a town was wonderful.The meal was also very good.

great location inside the walls of Dubrovnik.....

Hotel has no elevator and is 6 stories high.....staff was immediate in carrying luggage, welcoming us back each time we returned and breakfast was a feast.

Excellent location in the Old Town of Dubrovnik

Really enjoyed our visit to Dubrovnik this hotel is in a great location to visit the old town and surrounding area. The staff were really accommodating and knowledgeable about the area.

Newly remodeled hotel in good location but issues.

All of the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The hotel is newly remodeled and rooms look nice with a bey small but nice lobby and lounge. Rooftop is incredible for breakfast but only starts at 8am. In Dubrovnik you have many tours that start at 7am so the breakfast that is included is unavailable to you. I missed out on breakfast three of four days due to this. I told the staff but that did not care. The beds are lumpy and the windows look out to a wall. So only plan to sleep and shower in the room. It was a nice hotel but not worth $425 a night.

Great Hotel right in the old town centre

Enjoyed three nights here, good location inside old town walls, easy walking distance for all the main sites. Lovely roof top terrace with a wonderful peaceful breakfast each morning, looking over the whole of the old town. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Our favourite new city, and if we came here again we would definitely stay at the Hotel Stari Grad

Lives up to its title

This hotel is in a great location. The rooms were spotlessly clean and had everything I needed. Unfortunately, the weather was poor during my stay but the rooftop terrace looked like an amazing place for breakfast. My only real quibble is that as an old building, there was no lift. However, the lady at reception helped bring up my luggage to my room. I only mention this because it may not suit older or infirm travellers.

Ruhige Oase inmitten der Altstadt

Ein Team mit sehr freundlichen Mitarbeitern kümmert sich vom ersten Augenblick des Ankommens bis zur Abreise um den Gast. Man taucht ein in dieses liebevoll und schick ausgestattete kleine Hotel in einer der vielen Seitengassen der Altstadt. Die Zimmer sind absolut ruhig, herrlich klimatisiert. Höhepunkte sind das Einnehmen des leckeren Wahlfrühstücks auf der Terrasse über den Dächern der Altstadt oder der Besuch des Restaurants am gleichen Ort mit seiner erlesenen Küche. Man ist während seines Aufenthaltes einfach beglückt von der Umgebung und gesamten Mannschaft des Hotels.

O hotel é bem bonito, dentro das muralhas. Não tem elevador, portanto, não adequado para qualquer pessoa. O local do café da manhã é na varanda no telhado, com vista lindíssima. Porém, não muito útil, visto que, as comidas não ficam ali, à mão. O garçon fica subindo e descendo e o menu é restrito para trazer um pacote pré-pronto para facilitar.

Great location, great terrace, great staff

We stayed at the Stali Grad for 3 nights in May. Basically, there isn't much to add to many other reviews. The hotel's been recently renovated to a very good standard. The hotel is one of two hotels inside the Old Town walls and is located in a very charming narrow street. Each floor has 2 rooms for a total of 8 rooms. The fifth floor is the kitchen and the room terrace, which I am told is one of only two in the Old Town (there is a newly renovated apartments just to the north east, that must be the only other one), is above the fifth floor (and hence the name of the restaurant). The rooms have all the modern amenities you would expect and are designed to a high standard.

A little gem

Great little hotel in an excellent old town location. The rooms were very comfortable with a lovely modern decor. Breakfast on the rooftop restaurant was good and had stunning views. All the staff I dealt with were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable hotel in the heart of Dubrovnik

A very comfortable stay in the heart of Dubrovnik. Lovely rooftop terrace for breakfast and a view of the city. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast box was packed for our early departure. Room was extremely clean and comfortable.
