We had a nice stay at the Thunderbird Motel. The location was really convenient and close to lots of amenities, restaurants, and things to do. The Aquatic Centre was especially close by and was a lot of fun for the family! The room was clean enough for our stay, although I do think it could have been cleaned a little more thoroughly. That being said, the motel is located in an area with quite a bit of walking traffic, so that’s something to keep in mind. Overall, the location was great, with plenty of restaurants and amenities nearby, and it was a convenient place to stay while exploring the area and the other towns!

The location was convenient and at the low end of the price scale, but it showed in being a fairly tired facility. Some maintenance is needed, for example, a soft step on the stairs, a leaking sink that has affected the baseboard in room 60, and a very weakly cooling fridge. The room was generally clean, but this did not seem to fully extend to the floor. The room was quiet through the night, which was much appreciated.

There is little to no sound proofing between suites. Actual room was clean and there were lots of pillows. There were other guests smoking right outside our door so that was very unpleasant. Next time I book a hotel I need to remember “you get what you pay for”… Typically, we would stay at a chain hotel but due to short notice for this trip we were unable to do that. The owners of this motel have made some surface repairs to this place, but some sound proofing between units needs to be done.

This is not the stay we were expecting from the photos, which are clearly edited. The diner is long closed and the rooms are shabby with peeling ceilings and broken tubs. The neighborhood is a tent city with droves of unhoused persons in various states of intoxication. The location was handy for getting around and the tv channels were excellent. Lots of parking was available.

Clean & comfortable bed. Bathroom outdated but clean. Air conditioner worked great and kept the room cool while it was +30c outside. As mentioned in other reviews, visible homelessness in the area however they didn’t loiter about the hotel property and didn’t cause us any problem. It’s a good place to stay for the night if you’re passing through and need something economical.

Ok; let me be super real- this is a motel, in a not so great area of Duncan. There are transient people around and you feel a little iffy. However! Big however- the property felt safe, the room that we were in had been renovated with hardwood floors, and while it was older ish, it was clean. The beds were very comfy, the sheets were crisp white, and though there was a lingering smell when you first walked in of “older building” smell, it went away pretty quick. I paid $225 for two nights over the weekend for a hockey tournament and I would actually stay again. There was a mini fridge, and the shower was the bomb. The shower was SO good. lol. My husband had 7 just because of the pressure. The curtain was also clean which isn’t always the case. The staff was friendly, and the one worker shoos away people that she knows don’t belong there. I’m giving it a good rating because you are getting what you pay for, but tbh it was actually much much better than we thought it would be. I was happy and pleasantly surprised.

We had a wonderful stay here for two nights while we visited the area for my partner's birthday. We both agreed that the bed in the room was our favourite part. It was like sleeping on a supportive fluffy cloud and we both slept so well which is new for us. The staff were lovely, the room was clean and the shower water pressure was out of this world good!! There's a mini fridge and microwave and sink but no dishes or utensils so bring your own or hit up the dollar store a few blocks from the Inn. We had planned on getting breakfast and dinner at the diner that is featured in the listing for the Inn but it looked long closed down and boarded up so we had to pivot. The coin operated laundry was such a bonus because we anticipated getting damp on our night kayak tour and the whale watching tour. We fortunately didn't but if we had gotten wet on day one and there wasn't a laundry room we could access, the nightmare of putting on wet clothes for the next day's all day tour would had significantly brought down the experience. So it was wonderful to know we had the option of clean dry clothes if we needed it. Parking was ample, location was central, supermarkets, food, Starbucks etc, all close by. The rubber covering on the stairs to the upstairs rooms was a little scary as the step edge fittings weren't quite attached and we definitely tripped a few times going up and down. A great expereince all round. Thank you!
