"It was a nice room with a big balcony with great sea and sunset views. It has it's own very clean beach with loungers and towels provided. The bed was comfortable. Few issues: the fridge wasn't working and after reporting this a few times, it took 24hrs to change it. The shower leaked and the skin outlet pipe leaked so the floor got flooded when it was used. The sink took 4 attempts to solve the issue. There was no safe in the room and although requested, one wasn't brought to the room. The large tv only had a few channels with English compared to other lesser starred hotels during this holiday. Although we were told at check-in that we could request milk and ice 24hrs a day, when we requested ice at approx 11pm, we were told this wasn't possible (the fridge had not been replaced at that stage). Breakfast in the building next door was good."

"Honestly the nicest hotel with even better staff. They were all so attentive and made my solo trip so comfortable. The breakfast was really nice and my room was upgraded (thank you), so I had a beautiful sea view with a hot tub bath. There was enough places to lounge and the beach right next to the hotel was perfect. A lot of nice restaurants on the strip and the bus station wasn’t far if you wanted to pop to Tirana for the day. I want to say thank you to Eva, Ali, Antonella and Sara who were more than accommodating during my stay - I will be back!!!"

"Should be called hotel ‘EpiDAMN NOISY’. No soundproofing in the rooms, hotel puts tables on the street right under bedroom windows and plays loud misc until 2330. In complained 3 times and they did not care one bit. In morning woke to sound of my neighbour coming easily through the walls. They spent too much on decoration, which is nice, but invested nothing in making sure you get a good nights sleep - awful. I moved to the Grand Duka, much better, so lovely and quiet. The Elidamn is on a busy street and even when the hotel eventually quietened down, the street party went on past 1am"

"My stay at Sol Tropikal was overall good, but there are a few things that could definitely be improved. The food was nice and tasty, especially the beef, pasta and panna cotta. I enjoyed most of the meals, although sometimes the food was more warm than hot. It would be better if the chefs could make sure the food stays hot enough during serving. The rooms were neat, tidy and comfortable. Housekeeping did a good job keeping everything clean throughout my stay, and the balcony area was nice to relax on. One thing I struggled with was communication with some of the staff because many of them were not able to speak English well, so I didn’t really find the staff very engaging. I was also disappointed with the water situation. I had two bottles in my room when I arrived, but nobody explained that I was supposed to keep and refill them. I assumed fresh bottles would be provided. When I asked reception for another bottle of water, I was told guests only get two bottles and that I should buy water from the lobby shop instead. Considering I paid for all inclusive, I honestly felt disappointed that they couldn’t provide one extra bottle, especially since I would have reused it for refills afterwards. Having stayed at another Melia hotel before, I personally didn’t feel this one matched the same standard. Overall the stay was okay and I would rate it 7/10."
