"Our main reason for choosing this property was it had an indoor pool. When we checked in, we were told the pool was not working and they didn’t know when it would be back in working order. This should be posted on their website. Another issue is that when I asked for a receipt at check out the young man did not seemed pleased. He was not very receptive at all to questions or acted as if he wanted to be there. My husband did appreciate the breakfast."

"Shortest stay ever. We checked in and upon smell and seeing the mold in the room and obvious water damage on the bathroom ceiling-we immediately left. This place is nasty."

"Historical does not equal run down and that’s what we experienced unfortunately. In addition, the popcorn they popped daily made the place smell and someone spilled in the elevator…in the 3 days we spent there it was never picked up by staff. Everything felt like the staff just did not care. However, I will say the beds were comfortable and I slept very well each night, the showers, heating and cooling in the rooms all very comfortable as well."

Pool was fantastic as was breakfast. If there was one note to make it would be better selection on TV channels. Will always stay here when in the Roanoke area!"

The exterior of the property was clean, parking was plentiful, and there was a gas station within walking distance. Staff were polite and professional. "Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted and provided with delicious, warm chocolate cookies. Our room was spacious and quiet. The complimentary continental breakfast was adequate and it's dining area was comfortably arranged. The location was perfect, directly accessible from I-581. And the cost was reasonable."

"The property is undergoing renovations so there was the expected construction dust and things around. However that night the fire alarm went off and they evacuated the hotel for safety precautions! I had just dozed off, there was a small child who was scared to death! The gentleman at the front desk looked terrified and he was on two separate phones he looked a nervous wreck!"
