"I expected the motel to be old and worn but this was way below my expectations. The carpet was completely covered in stains and there was an area on a seam ripped up and frayed. There was a table and chairs but I did not feel comfortable sitting down. I pulled back the covers and the sheets were clean but the sides of the bottom mattress were stained. The entry floor was dirty. I started wiping everything down with antiseptic wipes but decided that was a step too far. The remote was gross.The bathroom was updated and looked clean. I finally went to the front desk and told the lady I was checking out. I told her why and she agreed about the carpet. She offered me another room but I declined because I didn’t think it would be different. I wasn’t offered a refund. I don’t feel I was being over critical. I’m a backpacker and feel comfortable sleeping on the ground in the dirt. My expectations are low, clean and quiet. It’s a cute motel and could be a great place to stay with a little sprucing up. The lady at the front desk seemed nice."
