"What a contrast to my last hotel (Balmoral Lodge, Southport ). St Michael's was everything I want from a B&B and more. Beautiful vintage furniture, period features, immaculately clean, lovely owner, great atmosphere. Loved it and the presence of a coffee machine, a fridge and a balcony (looking over the garden) made this a great experience. .

"The property was undergoing a makeover, new carpets etc and was a little bit untidy in areas. Nonetheless to be expected during contractors working there. The staff, especially the manager, were extremely helpful and pleasant."

"A great experience - We would highly recommend Copper Beeches. The venue, quality of accommodation, the food, the welcome were all absolutely excellent. We couldn’t recommend it more highly."

"We found the hotel to be clean and comfortable with polite friendly staff. My husband had a suggestion for Scottish beer to be sold in the bar.
We enjoyed our stay."

"I had a lovely stay at the Shore Hotel in Balintore — the location is beautiful with a peaceful view over the harbour, and my room was immaculate, comfortable, and felt freshly renovated. Everything throughout the hotel was spotless and well cared for, and the whole place has a calm, welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast in the morning was really nice too — simple, tasty, and a perfect start before heading out to explore the coast. A very clean, friendly hotel in a gorgeous setting, and I’d happily...

"A lovely B&B, the room was beautifully clean & well equipped, nice touches like fresh milk, sweet treats & bedside phone chargers which was really useful. The breakfast was amazing, locally sourced meat from the Butcher with some of the nicest black pudding I have tasted. The town and beach are all within walking distance and plenty of places locally to eat in the evening. Thank you Helen for a wonderful stay"

"Fabulous small B&B on one of Buckie's main streets. A warm and friendly welcome awaits, and attentive throughout your stay. The B&B is very clean and rooms are small but comfortable. There's a sea view if you're looking out the back. The food is fantastic."

"Been to this hotel before, depending and enjoyed it, this time not as much, it's looking more tired. Old for me is fine as it gives character but there were some things that don't even meet a basic standard. Food and staff in the restaurant area were pleasant, not so much the reception staff who l feel we're unhelpful, inefficient doing their job. I had to move my room, l complained about not getting an answer on the phone to make a direct booking which is what they encourage, l e mailed reception more than once yet had no reply. Showed the guy on reception the e mails l sent all he said was l don't know what happened there. Basically l had to pay more for less due to poor customer service. If you can get a good deal l recommend going but for what l had to pay plus l had to change my room due to a smelly issue, l feel it's not good value anymore."
"Great hotel , staff were lovely and very helpful and friendly, Breakfast was amazing everything you could want was offered. Room was lovely , Food & cocktails were super , will definitely recommend staying here ."
"We absolutely loved our stay at the Mansion House. It is within walking distance of all the sites in Elgin plus has very accessible parking. The surrounding walks and neighboring river made me feel like a character in a Jane Austin novel. Iona, Billy and all the staff made us feel like family. We even learned how to play snooker. Breakfast couldn’t have been better or more convenient. Will definitely try to return every time we go to Scotland!!!"
"Breakfast was fantastic, lots of choice, freshly made to order. We didn't use the restaurant, therefore couldn't comment but it looked busy each evening.Rooms were spacious and very clean"
"The check-in process would have went smoother if I had checked my email 😅.
As I booked through Expedia, I was expecting to have the instructions on my expedia inbox. So, I had to phone the host for the instructions, which she happily provided in a text.
Interesting way of checking in, with a code and a lock box. Although it's nice to be greeted, this way saved a lot of time in waiting.
The hotel was clean, the smell when entering the room was clean, fresh.
Nice toiletries, plenty tea, coffee etc. Kettle and a small iron and ironing board in the room.
Comfy bed, at least I slept well.
The only downside, for which I've taken a star is that the room next door was very noisy on the day of the arrival, some ladies/ girls, laughing out loud and could hear them as they were in my room. Every time they used the toilet, I could hear the door, water flushing etc...very loudly.
After a full day of travelling, I would have appreciated some peace and quiet.
I haven't made the host aware about this, there is a note at the entrance to keep it down and respect the other guests, but I suppose, not everyone is considerate and educated.
The hotel is in a quiet area, couldn't hear the outside noise, just from the next door. I stayed in rm 4.
At the time they were not serving meals, but there are plenty places where you can eat around, one of them is 5 minutes walk and they have a shop there as well. (On the expensive side). But there are supermarkets and everything if you need anything."
