"We had a lovely time here with our 2 year old for two nights. We stayed in the Bluebell Pod which was so cosy and comfortable. We had everything we needed and really enjoyed the woods and the animals. Many thanks. Hope to come again next year! "

"Advertised as Family friendly so we booked an expensive 1 night stay. For myself my wife and my 4 year old daughter as it had a swimming pool. We were told when we arrived my daughter could only access the pool if she was 5. This was only hidden in the T&Cs and not flag until we arrived despite giving my daughters DOB.
We were going to get a relatively early and restful night but the loud base and music until midnight put pay to that. Our room was facing the open door of the after venue and again this wasn’t flagged at all.
When you pay £500+ for a one night stay you don’t expect this. Could have been a lovely stay but definitely tainted."
"We did enjoy it very much, the staff were excellent and attentive. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice and great quality. However the pool was a little disappointing, quite small and when looking closely there were black bits floating in the water and a small amount of litter. Maybe this is like all pools when examined closely, I don't know. Also we stayed during a heatwave and there was no Aircon in the room. For a four star hotel it was a surprise and disappointment."
"Good location. All ok and very clean, other than the room was extremely hot on a very warm weekend. This affected sleep and the hotel does not provide fans when asked at reception. Friends who also stayed said their rooms were stifling too. Wouldn't stay again in the summer unfortunately."
"Perfect stay. Only stayed a night, got there a bit late but there’s a leisure park 2 mins walk away with a cinema, arcade, crazy golf and stuff so if you’re too tired to go out can just go there for some entertainment. Hotel itself was very nice and clean and at a very peaceful and quiet location but only about 10-15 mins away from the centre. Aircon was good as it was a very hot day and the room came with a safe which was a nice touch. Complimentary breakfast had plenty of variety and everything was hot and fresh. Will definitely go again."
"- Breakfast is very basic, would not recommend. Save your money and go somewhere else.
- Bedrooms are very dirty and smelly.
- Checked in to my bedroom which had a dirty toilet full of stains, the toilet would not flush properly. Water running thru the whole night. Sink getting blocked everytime you would open the tap.
- Curtains don’t cover the window properly so you have direct sunlight coming into the room.
- Windows are extremely thin so you would hear the cars, all thru the night.
-Only positive thing is that the staff is very nice and goes above and beyond."
"Friendly staff at check in. Given a piece of paper per room for times of pool etc … does this change frequently? not very environmentally friendly to print it out each time for each room.
Went to use pool and sauna etc to hear one of the staff moaning that a child had poo’ed in the children’s pool and it was now out of action and on top of that the steam room had packed up and no staff.
We did use the adult pools and sauna which were fine.
We did not eat at the hotel but came back for drinks. I’m glad we didn’t eat as I over heard other guests complaining about their food and the orders leaving one man to wait and eat alone.
We were waiting at the bar for a long time to get served our drinks. We sat outside and as it got darker the many lights strung up did not come on.
The actual layout and areas available within the hotel were good but the signage could have been a lot better.
The rooms were good but heavy duvets for this time of year regardless of the heat wave. There was a kettle with tea coffee etc but no fridge which was a disappointment.
Breakfast … not what I expected at all. Not enough staff or attention to detail. Various fruit juices none of which were labelled the orange juice was easy to spot but unsure what the others were. The water was empty and never filled up.
There was a lot of mess that wasn’t cleared up, poor choice of coffee from the machines and no where to put teabags etc.
I’m not sure how this is a four star hotel our trip was a let down"
"The reception staff was really unhelpful. When I asked for help they wrote some notes on my booking as we couldn’t end up staying and he put words in my mouth that I didn’t say! He refused to give me something in writing after speaking to the GM. Really unhelpful "
"This was my first experience staying a village hotel, weekend stay. For me, it’s essentially a private gym with a hotel attached, probably in the same sleeping accommodation market as premier inn and pricing bracket.
A fee £5.00 payable to use the gym and pool, unless you have upgraded to a club room. Be aware if you like a leisurely evening swim and chill in the jacuzzi the pool closes at 8pm on weekends. Very disappointing , as , had I have known this , i would not have booked the hotel.
Location of hotel is good for days out around Berkshire. Weekdays you’ll need an early start to catch breakfast, as it finishes as 9.00am, Weekends 10.30am.
Breakfast for me was just “ok” No sign of a piece of fruit or yogurt, granola. There was English breakfast, didn’t look particularly appealing , toast and pastries, served in the sports bar / cafe area. Again , nothing hotel like about it. It’s a typical private gym, food area…David Lloyd type of thing.
We had a twin room, very clean and comfortable, powerful shower. Black out blind amazing , you have no idea what time of the morning it is, 0 morning light, but set your alarm, You’ll sleep past breakfast.
Be prepared to ask for an extra bath towel/ hand towel as only 1 of each provided per room.
Carparking £10.00 for 24hrs.
Would I stay again …probably not , but that’s my personal preference. It was outside my expectations of a “hotel with a pool “ stay."
