"Super comfy bed, very clean. The breakfast was fab with lots of choice and staff constantly replenishing food. Staff very pleasant. Lovely hotel. We had a nice stay. It was a good base, right opposite the parliament building and easy to walk over chain bridge to Pest."

"What a beautiful location. One feels like you are living in a fairytale land. Do get a reservation after dark at the rooftop bar. Pricey but incredible. We had a lovely meal at Maison which is not on the hotel list. Otherwise restaurants on the hill are very tourist oriented. It is under $10 to taxi down or take the funicular to the lower area and even over to the Pest side. Definitely reserve and tour the Parliment building. the Hospital in The Rock on castle hill is amazing. Akin to touring the War Rooms in London but more! My only negative was that the concierge at the Hilton was quite rude and dismissive. We asked other employees for help after 2 experiences with him. Everyone else was helpful and stellar. "

"Everything except only the parking wasn't excellent. The marked spaces are way to narrow for the rather wide (SUV) cars. Finally, I learned about the garage with wide slots, for extra money, but worth the peace of mind. Expedia made a horrible mistake, when confirmed my reservation. Added beside my name, whole Credit card number, the security code too. I had to get a new card number. "

"Had a fantastic stay at the Mercure – the location couldn't be better! It's perfectly situated within walking distance of Fisherman’s Bastion and Matthias Church, offering stunning views of Budapest both at sunrise and after dark. The area felt very safe throughout our visit. A 1-hour Danube cruise is an absolute must—try to book around 8:15 to 8:30 PM so you can experience the city’s transformation from dusk to night. The Parliament building looks especially magical when it lights up around 9 PM (timing may vary depending on sunset). For those with a sweet tooth, don’t miss Ruszwurm near Matthias Church—a charming spot with delightful pastries. If you're up for some nightlife, take a stroll along the road by the Parliament where you’ll find plenty of bars for a casual hopping experience. The Széchenyi Chain Bridge is breathtaking when lit up at night, perfect for a scenic walk. While Citadella is currently closed for renovation, hiking up the hill still rewards you with mesmerizing panoramic views of the city—a solid 25-minute uphill walk, and absolutely worth it! "
