"The staff were friendly and helpful and my room was spacious, bright, airy and clean. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The amenities were basic but I had everything I needed, including a much needed fan as it was a hot day! The hotel itself is nothing special, the decor is a little run down and in need of a paint job in some areas. My bathroom had rust in the bath and the finish was needing some tlc. "What a delightful place to stay for a short break in the Suffolk borders! Beautiful spacious rooms and first class restaurant food at dinner to complement the generous breakfast options. The staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly. We were pleasantly surprised how good the value for money was and we belatedly realised this is part of the same group as another of our favourites, The Maltings in Weybourne.. We are already planning a return visit in the near future it was so...

"Unfortunately, the hotel reviews from previous guests did not prepare us for the tired and “seen better days” hotel. The exterior paintwork peeling and despite very helpful staff the stairs, corridors and room had seen better days. We decided not to stay but booked another room elsewhere. Shame because we book many hotels through hotels.com and 9/10 have been fine. This was not “up to standard”. Sorry"
