"I like to stay at Holiday Inn Express, they are pretty uniform in cleanliness and amenities. The staff was very friendly, breakfast was good, the bed was comfortable,the pool and courtyard were clean and the hotel was pretty nice. However, in our room, the a/c wall unit was VERY noisy (was hard to get to sleep with that rattling!) and we had to run it all night for A/C, there were sheer curtains on the window with decorative curtains that didn't close and we looked at least 8 times for curtains that would go across the sheers and could find NOTHING. The bathroom did not have a vent, one of the bottom dresser drawers would not stay closed (must be a slight slope in the room), which could have been a been a big hazard if you ran into it. The sun streaming in woke us up hours too early! On checkout, they asked how our stay was and we told her the 4 things that we weren't happy about. She said "yes, we get that a lot about the blackout curtains, they are there, just really tucked back and not easy to see". I suggested that perhaps they tell people checking in about them and she said "no". They are getting ready to do a big remodel and would be changing curtains. I was very disappointed when I asked for a partial credit or voucher towards a future stay and she bluntly said NO. Okay, so maybe I won't be staying again?"
