Top Forest-l'Abbaye Hotel Reviews

Hotel Loysel le Gaucher

Hotel Loysel le Gaucher

10/10 Excellent
"A wonderful stay in a gorgeous grand house refurbished to a modern high standard, while being sympathetic to it's history. We really enjoyed staying in a family room - kids loved the spiral staircase leading to their own beds on a mezzanine. Be aware that there isn't an elevator/lift and our room was on the second floor, but we didn't mind as we admired the wide and grand staircase. We appreciated the bottle of water provided, the coffee machine, teabags and kettle. However, we would have preferred 2 coffee capsules with caffeine (instead of 1), and a top-up of capsules after cleaning on the next day. The bathroom is spacious and modern, with a brilliant shower. The hotel is aroumd the corner from the very enjoyable citadel museum, and easy access to the rampart walk circuit. We didn't take the hotel breakfast, preferring instead to wander around the town and try the different bakeries. The hotel doesn't have its own car parking but there is free parking on the surrounding streets, including in the nearby Citadel carpark. A wonderful hotel - we hope to visit again and recommended Hotel Loysel to other visitors"
