"Air conditioning was weak, we woke up a few times hot. The room was stuffy and dated. It’s not a luxury experience, it was average.
The rest of the hotel was lovely and the food was excellent. Wouldn’t come and stay again but would eat here."
"Very centrally located in city centre, everything you need on hand. Staff friendly and efficient. Price paid for bed and breakfast very reasonable. Would definitely return."
"The hotell is very nice. The staff were all friendly, the breakfast was hot and good and the room comfortable and clean. The only mark against them is the entry to the hotel. There were hundreds of cigarette butts lying in the gutter by the sidewalk at the front entry. Something that could be swept up in a few minutes. It gives the wrong first impression of being a 1 or 2 star hotel instead of the 3 or 3.5 star that it is. I still recommend it and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again."
"Checked in, receptionist was lovely. Climbed a load of stairs, along some corridors, down some stairs and up some more, finally got to our room, not a towel to be seen. Away back up and down all the stairs to ask for towels and then back up and down all the stairs again. Finally got to relax after driving all the way from Cornwall. Carpark was good, room was ok. Not the cleanest and the shower had more water coming out the hose than anywhere else. The restaurant had food, roast dinner with the toughest beef known to man but the meal as a whole was good. Bed was comfy and had a good nights sleep. In the morning. Headed for breakfast. Never been here before so used our psychic powers to figure out what the score was. The woman in the breakfast room had an abrupt tone about her but was pleasant enough. All the staff of the day started to arrive and congregate behind the bar having loud conversations about what was happening in which rooms and why. You know, the kind of mindless chat you want to hear first thing in the morning. Went out for a smoke before paying and heading back to our room to finish packing. Walked back in to what can only be described as the breakfast room lady looking very shifty, making faces to another guest in an attempt to hide the fact we were being spoken about. Checked out and never looked back. Wont be staying here again. The staff clearly prefer to chat about guests rather than do their job and provide a professional service. "
"Premier Lodge is always my first choice when I’m staying in the area, and that comes down to one thing above all else – the staff. They are genuinely first class. Every interaction is friendly, professional, and nothing ever feels like too much trouble. You’re always met with a smile, and there’s a real sense that they care about your stay.
The hotel itself is consistently clean, comfortable, and well run, but it’s the people that make the difference. They set the tone and make it an easy decision to return time and again. Reliable, welcoming, and a level of service that stands out."
